A Texas Thanksgiving

Had SUCH a nice Thanksgiving with my soon-to-be family! :) I flew in Tuesday night, Tim flew in early Thursday morning. Connie and I planned out a girls day for Wednesday: Shipleys, Teacher Heaven, Pampering, Chipotle, Shopping.....doesn't get too much better than that ladies and gentlemen. (Probably just ladies reading this though haha) Thanksgiving was wonderful meeting more of Tim's family and spending time together.

What I love about Black Friday: that I can sleep and still get the perks!! (i.e. Tim getting The Big Bang Theory season 4 and flowers for me)

On Saturday, a wonderful party and get together was thrown to celebrate Tim & I's engagement. Corinne and I had fun going to Michaels and getting creative with the decorations. Here's a little taste:

It's That Time Again!

Hello everyone!

So, it seems like no matter how hard I try...I blog once a month!

Here's a quick update:

• Sanity......well....

My good friend, Ally, and I went to our first bridal show on Sunday! She's getting married in December...hers is just around the corner! We had lots of fun going to the next booths!

Tim and I are taking a Prepare&Enrich marriage course with our dear minister, Ev. Miller. We are very excited to start this! I mean, come on, just the title alone. Prepare and Enrich....Sign me up! :) One of the things we have to do beforehand is take an extensive assessment online. We can't talk about it, so we have honest and accurate response. I think it was like 300 questions!!! I'm excited though for us to have more deeper and insightful discussion.

Lots of things to look forward to: One of them being going to Texas for Thanksgiving Break, y'all! :)

Blog Neglect!

Hello Friends and Family!

I can't believe it has been over a month since I have posted! Yikes--so sorry! I'm glad none of you are holding me to number of postings, like once a month or dare I say once a week! EEK!

It's been CrAzY this past month for Tim and I in regards to our profession. I went back to school three weeks ago, and it's been non-stop ever since! I am definitely blessed at the school I'm at and LOVING second grade! :) But you didn't come to hear about my personal life... :) Sidenote, at church yesterday, a friend was introducing me to his wife. "This is Jenn..." (no response) "...Tim's fiance."  "OH!" So, now I am known by Tim :)

Wedding Details:

• We have a photographer--just finalizing the little details.
• We are down to the nitty gritty in deciding a reception venue.
• Starting to look into other things, such as flowers, DJ, etc.

This past weekend, Tim and I flew up to NC for our friends, Jason and Nadisha's, engagement. It was nice to share in their special weekend. When they received their engagement blessing, Tim and I felt like it was a reminder of ours--kinda rejuvenated us, you know? Then, I got to experience another engagement blessing yesterday. (You might think I'm an engagement blessing hunter...) The bible verse used was Psalms 31:3 "You are my rock..." It reminded me that Tim is my rock. Not to hurt or drown me, but my strength and support. With communication and love, anything is possible.

Well, I will try and make sure that it's not a month before I post again. I will leave you with this...I was going through old notes and found cards my students made last year, when they found out I was engaged. Little did I know that they had already picked out my wedding dress....

Seekers of Your Heart

I am still on a spiritual and emotional high from this weekend! Tim's family came into town this past week. The girls and I worked on organizing my library in my classroom. Got lots done--which I am VERY excited about! On Friday, our engagement photos started off not going as planned, but IKEA was a good substitute....for now! :) On Saturday, I spent a wonderful day with ALL my bridesmaids! We had lunch at P.F. Changs, where they surprised me with champagne and a yummy engagement cake. We then went on to get pampered with manicures or pedicures. And finally, we ended our day trying on bridesmaid dresses and my wedding dress. All I can say is that ALL my bridesmaids approve of my dress! :)


Sunday was the highlight of our weekend--our engagement blessing. As I look through photos taken, the happiness was clearly evident on our faces in like every picture! There's just something about standing in front of God's altar with the man that you are in love with/man of your dreams. Our dear friends, Dave, Evi, Matt, Melissa, and my brother, Jeremy sang a beautiful arrangement of "As the Deer" (one of our favorite songs) The Apostle Hecht held a wonderful engagement blessing and ended with "You are not just Jennifer and Tim. You have a very special place in my heart."


To continue with our perfect day, we had an intimate engagement party at Macaroni Grill. Tim & I are so blessed and thankful to have such loving and supportive friends and family. Thanks to my mom for the wonderful planning and decorations of this event. She made purple menus and put these really cool purple and green jewels on the table. Our dads made a special toast to us where they reiterated what the Apostle said, and Tim's dad said, "I remember two months ago when you told me that you love her more and more each day. May that continue." We even practiced kissing when everyone klinked their glasses....more than once! :) We really enjoyed sharing our special day with the ones we love.

What a Month!

So, I was on another wedding blog site and realized that I need to update mine! It has been a crazy month! I am in full wedding planning mode now that I do not have 17 kids to take care of! I have become a magnet to any wedding sites or pictures to get ideas! :) Here are a few examples:

I didn't think this would happen so soon, but I found my wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses!!! Can't post it (obviously..tsk tsk!) But I can show you a dress that did not make the cut--"Say NO to the dress!" My expression pretty much sums up my thoughts on the dress....

We have started to look at possible reception venues and photographers. That's the most stressful part. When it's all said and done, the only thing we will have are the memories and pictures from our wedding. Photography can not be taken lightly!!

Tim & I also started our gift registry, so that we could do something together. I am so blessed to have a fiance that WANTS to be a part of the wedding planning process and do things for our wedding together. This way we can be "bridezilla" AND "groomzilla" together! :) Here's me in action:

Things to look forward to: Tim's family coming in 13 days, making my future sisters work in my classroom, getting ALL my bridesmaids together for a girls day, and the highlight is...Tim & I's engagement blessing on July 10th! (17 more days!) I am so excited to officially receive God's blessing on our engagement. Thanks to the lovely Donielle--I also have my dress for that day!

New Page!!!

I added a page about our groomsmen in our wedding party! :) It has been fun looking and planning out the little details of the wedding. Can't wait for school to be over so I can go into full speed planning! I'm excited to start trying on dresses after I have "favorited" many online. Here's a few I have been dreaming about:

ONE WEEK!

No, not one week till the wedding...you can breathe now. :) One week after he proposed!!! :) :) :)




No. This is not what we did for our workout.



I was over at Tim's apartment last night. We were having dinner, and were both in the same spot where he proposed. It got me excited all over again!!!



On a more serious note, after much thought and deliberation, I have decided to create my own "Shedding for the Wedding" program. I have enlisted Erika Frishe to be my personal trainer for the next....YEAR! She currently did not read THAT fine print of the contract! :) Good thing she loves me, and we have much history! :) We had our first workout--hopefully seeing results over the next month or so. :) :) :)

I've noticed that I have many smiley faces!! This is to be expected. Do NOT be alarmed. Sillyness will also be highly prevalent.
