Tim and Jenn met for the very first time at a regional youth camp in Panama City in May 2003. They had a mutual friend, Jason Pfaff. Jenn had gone up to Jason and given him a hug. Jason found this as the perfect opportunity to introduce the two of them. Tim and Jenn shook hands, exchanged the typical "Nice to meet you's", and then Jenn left. After Jenn left, Tim felt the urge to express his feelings about the girl he just met: "Dude, she's gorgeous!" (It is believed that his actual word was hott, but how romantic would that be?) Jason responded with, "Dude, she's 15!" End scene. Or at least for the time being.
It was beginning to look like Tim and Jenn would never see each other again, but in 2006, Tim moved down to Florida for a job opportunity. Tim and Jenn became close friends. They would hang out with mutual friends, have dinner, watch a movie, or just talk. Just like with any boy/girl friendship, someone always develops feelings. Tim decided to act upon his feelings and tell Jenn. Jenn just saw him as a friend and tried to let him down gently. Up went the barrier walls. So, they both went on to date other people.
In October 2009, Jenn broke up with her boyfriend. She felt that God wanted her to put guys aside and be single for awhile. A few weeks after the break up, Jenn called Tim to let him know what had happened. For some reason, after that, they started talking every day. Jenn remembers Tim being the first one she called to excitedly say that she bought her cap and gown for graduation. The support in his voice triggered something in Jenn's heart.

Jenn spent some serious time mulling over whether or not to share her recent feelings with Tim. They had such a special relationship--one like they never had with anyone else--that the risk seemed incredibly great. Jenn prayed about it and eventually shared her feelings. Tim was quiet and also needed some time to think...but asked her out on a date to Outback on December 10th, 2009.

Tim and Jenn knew that they had most of the chemistry, since they were best friends. Would there be the physical chemistry, though? Ultimately, the kiss would make or break it. Thankfully, the first kiss was a magical and beautiful thing. The only thing left to do is to quote The Princess Bride movie--"Since the invention of the kiss, there have only been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind." They both left the date extremely excited. Jenn still has the text that Tim sent her after the first date.
They continued to go on dates, and on January 16th, 2010, Tim asked Jenn to be his girlfriend. She said yes. Since then, their love for each other has grown tremendously. As time went on, they began to seriously talk about marriage and went to look at rings. Tim made it seem like he would propose near the end of 2011, but on March 23rd, his 29th birthday, he proposed! Jenn had come over to his apartment for his birthday. They were in the middle of eating dinner, when Tim said, "I forgot something in the car." Jenn was already wondering if he might propose. He came back with a bucket of eggs with stickers and silly bands and a bear. Jenn thought Oh I guess he's not proposing. Tim said that he wanted Jenn to check out the silly putty in one of the eggs to make sure it was ok. Jenn opened it, and there was a gorgeous engagement ring in the silly putty! Tim got down on one knee, said some sweet words, and then proposed. Jenn said yes!
So now, Tim and Jenn are reflecting on their love story and how God's hand was in it all. They look forward to planning their wedding and lives together.
This is a beautiful magical story. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to the wedding and hope you enjoy every moment in between and after.
